The curriculum for the Bachelor of Fine Art in Fashion with a concentration in fashion design offers technical and design courses that provide skills required in the fashion industry. Individual designs are presented in two-dimensional form, developed and perfected through modern techniques, and then executed in final and three-dimensional form in fabrics appropriate to the design. Junior design students are encouraged to complete industry-relevant internships in New York City. Internships, conducted primarily during the summer, provide not only experience but contacts, and are strongly recommended. Students are admitted into the department after successful completion of the Art Foundation program or its equivalency.
