Share your love of the French language with the next generation with a bachelors degree in teaching - French from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. Graduates of the program are certified to teach French to students in pre-K through grade 12. Rooted in experiential learning and travel, our French teaching major provides countless opportunities for you to grow as both a teacher and as a person. Courses explore a variety of topics, from grammar and pronunciation to the history of French civilization to a cross-continental study of Francophone cultures. Through a semester spent student teaching, as well as multiple opportunities to assist teachers in their classroom, youll identify your preferred teaching style and discover how to best meet the needs of your learners. An exciting and key component of this program is that all French teaching majors are required to participate in an international language immersion experience. Ranging from six weeks to a semester abroad, youll immerse yourself in a country where French is spoken, gaining a deeper cultural awareness and a better understanding of the French language. Upon completion of the program, youll quickly find youve earned so much more than a degree. Youll go on to use your skills, experience and passions to inspire, motivate and educate others, making a positive impact wherever you go.
