As a student of Media and Communication, you will take courses that encourage critical thinking as you develop your skills in written, spoken, and visual communication. You will have the opportunity to specialize in Media Studies, Professional Writing, or Leadership Communication, with minors available in Film Studies and Professional Writing. The Media and Communication program at TWU prepares you to effectively speak, write, and visually communicate in order to engage and transform our media-saturated world. Ideal for those who want to pursue writing-intensive careers in journalism, public relations, technical writing, and radio/TV/film script development. The stream focuses on non-fiction writing, but includes creative fiction as well. If you’re currently writing for your school newspaper or arts magazine, or if you want to become a public relations writer, this stream is for you.
You must have successfully completed an Canadian Year 12 (or equivalent senior secondary school qualification) Equivalent qualifications may also include a recognised post secondary diploma in the relevant discipline with the required grades.Meeting the minimum academic requirements does not guarantee entry. Your application will still need to be assessed and accepted.If you dont meet the entry requirements, there may be other programs you are eligible for that can lead you to your preferred program.
