About the courseOur Creative Writing program, one of the first of its kind in Canada, immerses you in every aspect of the writing life, from the development of ideas to the publication of finished works. As a Creative Writing student, you’ll learn to approach literature from a writer’s point of view as you develop your own craft under the guidance of published writers and fellow students. Whether it’s through prose, poetry, or drama, our workshops help you find your voice and your subject. Creative writing students also have the opportunity to supplement their regular courses with master classes conducted by internationally renowned writers during the Writers Read at Concordia series. Concordia has hosted writers such as Colm Tobin, Julian Barnes, Jorrie Graham, Mark Strand, Miriam Toews and George Saunders. Montreals vibrant English-language literary scene offers a showcase for the work of student writers as well as published authors. The skills acquired in our Creative Writing program can help prepare you for a professional life as a writer, editor, or publisher in print or in electronic media. The Honours in English and Creative Writing is a gateway to graduate study in literature or to further study in creative writing.

AboutEstablished by the government of British Columbia in 1981, Kwantlen, now Kwantlen Polytechnic University, has five campuses located in the Metro Vancouver region of British Columbia. KPU offers bachelors degrees, associate degrees, diplomas, certificates and citations in more than 120 programs.
Many of its programs include work experience terms, practicums, or cooperative education options. Almost 20,000 students annually attend courses at KPU campuses in Surrey, Richmond, Langley, Cloverdale, and Civic Plaza. Kwantlen Polytechnic University currently offers a range of credentials, many of which are completely unique, to successfully meet the evolving needs of regional and global employment markets.
Located at the Surrey campus, the Aboriginal Gathering Place is an inviting space for all students. Recognizing the important contributions of Aboriginal Nations, the gathering place supports social and education activities associated with KPU. The Kwantlen Student Association (KSA) has over 30 student clubs. Student clubs at KPU meet regularly and host their own events.The university provides students with its state-of-the-art facilities that includes High-tech labs, studios, classrooms, and facilities. Fitness centres and workout spaces on each campus with a variety of sport and recreational activities for all students are available including fitness classes, personal training, and intramural leagues.
Often referred to as the ‘main campus’, KPU Surrey is the largest of the 5 campuses and is easily accessible by public transit. The campus is home to an array of programs and student services including a dedicated fitness centre, gymnasium, café, student lounges and study spaces for its 9, 500 KPU Surrey students. KPU Richmond offers a wide range of business, arts, and design programs. The brand new, state of the art Wilson School of Design officially opened in January 2018, providing a total of 681 spaces for design students. The campus hosts 6,500 students. KPU Langley is all about hands-on learning, and 3000 students can be found studying in the campus. With dedicated horticulture facilities, cutting-edge Nursing labs and fully-equipped music practice rooms, there are plenty of opportunities for students to put their skills into practice. KPU Tech is dedicated to trades and technology, including apprenticeships, foundation training, and technical career programs. 900 students utilize the 21 workshops, 27 classrooms, and multiple computer labs.

The Langley campus is home to the university’s School of Horticulture - which includes a field lab, greenhouses, and gardens. The Langley campus is also home to KPUs music programs and includes performance spaces and an auditorium. KPU Langley also offers science programs, and has biology, brewing, chemistry, physics, and geology labs with industry-standard equipment.
