Admission Requirement

  • Secondary School Applicants who have completed high school in British Columbia or an equivalent education are required to hold at least a BC high school (Grade 12) diploma with an overall average of C.
  • For high school graduates who do not meet the minimum grade levels, University Canada West may still consider admission if they have successfully completed a minimum of 30 academic post-secondary credits at a recognised institution.

Applicants need to provide the following documents:

  • A completed online application.
  • An official high school transcript.
  • Official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended (if applicable).
  • Official proof of English proficiency (if required).
  • A credential evaluation from a recognised service confirms equivalency if the applicant submits a credential from an unrecognised institution or if additional analysis is required by the Admissions Committee.
  • For transcripts in a language other than English, applicants must provide a certified English translation from a certified translator on official letterhead.
  • International students whose first language is not English should submit an IELTS score of at least 6.5 (minimum 6.0 in the writing band) or an equivalent score in other recognised English proficiency tests (TOEFL, PTE, Duolingo, etc.). Alternatively, successful completion of University Canada West's University Access Program (UAP) with a Grade Point Average of at least 70% is accepted.
  • International students who have completed a recognised degree program in an English-speaking country are exempt from the English language proficiency requirement.
  • Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 3.00 (on a 4.33 scale) or higher in a bachelor's degree from a recognised university. Alternatively, successful completion of University Canada West's MBA Foundation (MBAF) with a GPA of 3.00 is accepted.

Applicants should meet one of the following criteria:

  • Attain a suitable score on a Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) or the Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) taken within the last five (5) years.
  • Possess a relevant Canadian professional designation or equivalent international designation (e.g., CPA, CA, CGA, CMA, CHRP, or P.Eng).
  • Hold a bachelor's degree in business (e.g., Business Administration [BBA] degree or Bachelor Commerce [BCom]) from a recognised university.
  • Demonstrate a minimum of three (3) years of documented professional or management experience with evidence of career progression and relevant education and/or training.
