Talk to a counsellorAt Sussex, you combine the traditional with the alternative. You’ll explore interesting and unexpected approaches to the fundamental problems of philosophy. You’ll have the opportunity to study the two dominant traditions: analytic philosophy, continental philosophy. During your degree, you can choose to: approach philosophical questions in different ways, for example by exploring non-Western and feminist philosophy, tailor your degree to what interests you most, from English literature to history, sociology and modern languages, open your mind to other disciplines with our range of electives and pathways – an important aspect of this degree. In the School of Media, Arts and Humanities, you’ll become part of a friendly community of students and expert academics. You’ll also have the opportunity to join the University’s lively Philosophy Society. When you graduate, you’ll be able to reflect critically, analyse texts, produce compelling arguments and think fast. You’ll have the skills for a range of careers. This might include teaching, journalism, management, marketing and communication.
