Students from Australia are accepted for this course

This course will give you the answers you seek – and much more. There has never been a more pressing time to study International Development, as globalisation continues to impact some of the worlds poorest countries, or the global South, and the reaction to globalisation continues to manifest itself in first world countries in Europe and North America, such as Brexit and the election of the protectionist US President, exacerbated by major humanitarian issues such as the refugee crisis. Our courses give you the skills and knowledge, such as being able to develop your own ideas and plans for a future development project and learn how to present and fundraise for it, to pursue careers that give ultimate job-satisfaction – working for positive change in the world, such as setting up your own NGO, or to be an informed and critical practitioner. We don’t just use textbooks, we change daily on the break-neck speed of current affairs, and encourage you to step out of the classroom and study beyond the headlines and what is happening internationally. We are one of very few universities that offer you the chance to gain valuable work experience in an NGO, such as Save the Children UK and Oxfam, in a developing country as a core part of your course.
