Talk to a counsellorLiterature is powerful. Ever thought about how a book can change society? We’re passionate about how literature in all its forms can illuminate and transform society. Studying at Sussex, you’ll read works from a thousand years of literary history around the world. We’ve selected works reflecting some of the most significant challenges to social justice at that time and place for you to explore. In the School of Media, Arts and Humanities, you’ll become part of a friendly community of students and academics. On this course, you can choose to: explore big ideas from literary theory – authorship, identity and politics, tailor your degree to what interests you most, from art history to philosophy and modern languages, open your mind to other disciplines with our range of electives and pathways – an important aspect of this degree, apply for a year studying abroad. You’ll also have the opportunity to experiment with your own writing, supported by our experts. Brighton is a stimulating arts and media hub, and you’ll enjoy easy access to London. You’ll be in a great location for professional placement opportunities and career inspiration. When you graduate, you’ll have skills including critical analysis, written communication, independent thinking, self-motivation and problem-solving.
You must have successfully completed an United Kingdom Year 12 (or equivalent senior secondary school qualification) Equivalent qualifications may also include a recognised post secondary diploma in the relevant discipline with the required grades. Meeting the minimum academic requirements does not guarantee entry. Your application will still need to be assessed and accepted. If you dont meet the entry requirements, there may be other programs you are eligible for that can lead you to your preferred program.
