You will learn to expertly analyse diverse literary texts from a range of periods and places, alongside exploring the value and meaning of extensive sources including letters, oral testimonies, images, archaeological evidence, and material objects. Combining English and History will give you the opportunity to uniquely understand the creative aspects of historical writing and the importance of locating human expression across chronological, geographical, and cultural contexts. The course content is contemporary, exploring the today’s relevance and legacies of contested pasts alongside deep understanding of human communication and ideas.
