Explore how Economics and International Relations challenge each other and prepare yourself to successfully confront these challenges in your career. You’ll learn from Economics experts shaping global policy and one of the largest dedicated International Relations departments in the world. You study the principles of economics and finance including both macro- and microeconomics, different approaches to international relations and the major events of modern international history. In Economics, you’ll focus on areas such as trade, global imbalances, the financial crisis, financial markets and institutions. In International Relations, you study areas such as contemporary international theory and global political economy. To help you gain quantitative skills, you’ll study mathematics and statistics, and to extend your statistical knowledge you’ll train in econometrics. You also choose from a broad range of economics and international relations options, such as labour or development economics, or studying a specific world region. You also benefit from having an Academic Success Adviser who can help you with academic study skills including critical thinking, presenting, academic writing and note-making.
