Civil and environmental engineers are involved in the design, construction, and operation of water facilities, waste water disposal plants, hydraulic structures, electric energy generation, transportation systems such as highways, railroads and airports, buildings and bridges of all kinds, community planning, and solid and hazardous waste disposal. South offers the first two years of general education needed for a four-year degree in Engineering.
