The exams you will need to take, and the required minimum score will vary depending on the university you wish to attend. However, most universities will require you to take and pass specific exams before being accepted.

Eligibility to Study a Bachelor's in STEM Abroad

In order to pursue a bachelor's degree in STEM abroad, you need to have at least a twelfth-grade education in Science along with passing a few standardised exams. The exams you will need to take, and the required minimum score will vary depending on the university you wish to attend. However, most universities will require you to take and pass specific exams before being accepted.

The minimum score needed to study at a university abroad varies from country to country. In general, the least accepted score will be above 60%. Of course, a higher percentage corresponds to a higher GPA, which increases the chances of being admitted to a better university.

In order to pursue an undergraduate course in STEM, you must meet the following subject-specific requirements:

  • Science: 10+2 in PCM or PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology)
  • Technology: 10+2 in or PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) Biology mandatory for Biotechnology courses
  • Engineering: 10+2 in PCM with (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics)
  • Mathematics: 10+2 in PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics)

Eligibility to Study a Master's in STEM Abroad

To be eligible for studying a master’s in STEM, you should have a bachelor’s degree in the same discipline. If you were to study Master of Information Technology or Master of Software Engineering, your minimum qualification should be a bachelor’s degree in either Information Technology or Software Engineering.

The minimum bachelor’s score needed to opt for a Master’s in STEM is 60%. Usually, universities abroad do not check your bachelor’s score, requiring a CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average). When your CGPA calculates more than 60%, you are eligible to apply for university admission.

In order to study postgraduate in STEM, you need to meet the following subject-specific requirements:

  • Science: 10+2 with 3-year formal bachelor’s degree in Science Honours
  • Technology: 10+2 with 4-year formal bachelor’s degree in any Technological or related discipline
  • Engineering: 10+2 with 4-year formal bachelor’s degree in any Engineering or related discipline
  • Mathematics: 10+2 with 3-year formal bachelor’s degree in Mathematics Honours
