Different universities have different names for their first year. Some call it the preparatory year, while others call it the first year. This is because students who don't have a science degree often have to take extra classes during their first year. The normal duration for these students is five years. However, you can enrol in the four-year program if you already have a bachelor's degree in Science or Biology. After completing your MD in Canada, you can apply for Medical Residency there.
