The City of Salford is named after the settlement Salford. It is a metropolitan borough of Greater Manchester with a population of over 245000 and has a notable educational system. Half of Salford is filled with nature reserves and forests along with wildlife habitats which makes it a tourist attraction. The city was once claimed as the UK's only orange canal which was famous for its distinctive orange colour.
