About
The University of Wolverhampton is a public university located on four campuses across the West Midlands, Shropshire and Staffordshire in England. The roots of the university lie in the Wolverhampton Tradesmens and Mechanics Institute founded in 1827 and the 19th-century growth of the Wolverhampton Free Library, which developed technical, scientific, commercial and general classes. This merged in 1969 with the Municipal School of Art, originally founded in 1851, to form the Wolverhampton Polytechnic.
The University of Wolverhampton has been providing students with life-changing opportunities for more than 190 years. With over 500 courses to choose from, international students can move closer to their career goals. Three faculties offer courses in more than 70 subject areas, with many courses accredited by professional bodies.
Wolverhampton is in a central location in the UK, with Birmingham just 18 minutes away by train. Manchester can be reached in 70 minutes, and London in approximately 90minutes. Wolverhampton also offers a cheap cost of living compared to other UK cities.
The university invests a lot in its students and the campus community. Millions of pounds have been put into campus developments and learning facilities in recent years, including new engineering facilities, science building and a new home for the Business School.
As it is a global institution, Wolverhampton aims to give all students opportunities to improve their knowledge, skills and confidence so they can succeed in the international economy.
