MSc in Computer Science is a 30-credit masters degree program that blends the presentation of theory with hands-on practice. This equips the students with a solid foundation of skills, and more importantly, the ability to adapt to the constantly evolving landscape of the computing discipline.A key aspect of the MScdegree, as it can prepare students to enter the computer industry directly after graduation, or to continue their educational path to a Ph.D.An additional feature of the program caters to those wishing to switch fields into the computer science realm. Founded on the Yale campus in 1920, the University of New Haven is a private, coeducational university situated on the coast of southern New England. It’s a diverse and vibrant community of 7,000 students, with campuses across the country and around the world. The University is composed of: the College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Business, the School of Health Sciences, the Henry C. Lee College of Criminal Justice and Forensic Sciences, Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts, and the Tagliatela College of Engineering. It awards bachelors and associate degrees in 57 undergraduate majors, masters degrees in 31 areas of graduate study, and a doctorate in criminal justice. Here, the experience of learning is both personal and pragmatic, guided by a distinguished faculty who care deeply about individual student success.
As leaders in their fields, faculty members provide the inspiration and recognition needed for students to fulfill their potential and succeed at whatever they choose to do. The University of New Haven boasts a student-to-faculty ratio of 16:1, with an average class size of 22 students.
The University has 263 full-time faculty members in addition to part-time and adjunct professors. Of the full-time faculty, 82 percent hold the highest degree in their field. The University boasts more than 150 clubs and organizations, and students have access to hundreds of different study abroad programs, including those at Tuscany Campus in Prato, Italy. Student news is provided by The Charger Bulletin, a weekly student-run newspaper available in hard copy and online. Students and community members also broadcast on the campus radio station, WNHU 88.7 FM, which is also available online and has won a number of Best College Radio Station awards in local media readers polls.
