The objectives of the Master program are twofold: to offer advanced education in all areas of Italian Studies and, to provide training in research techniques. These objectives are reached through 8 half-year courses, to be selected from an average yearly offering of 12, and a mandatory half-year course on methods of research (ITA 1000H). All elective courses include a major research paper and seminar presentations based on research assignments. Some courses also include a final examination.
