About the courseThe University offers a bachelor of science (B.S.) in aviation management. This degree program prepares students for careers in air traffic control, airport or airline operations, or supervision in the aviation industry. Graduates obtain positions in airport and air carrier operations, airport service industries, aircraft sales, passenger services, and aircraft operations. The program includes a core of basic aviation courses—plus coursework in aviation management. In addition, students complete one ISU minor. Flight training is not required. However, to gain a better understanding of the aviation industry, students are encouraged to obtain at least a private pilot certificate with instrument rating.
