About the courseAmbition is everything and this inspiring degree provides contemporary vocational actor training, in a variety of styles, media and venues, with direct entry into year three.BA (Hons) Stage and Screen Acting is a full-time course studied over two years, and is designed to provide a credible vocational training for applicants who have completed two years of Higher Education. Our aim is to create an exciting pathway for the many people who have completed HND, Foundation Degrees, Associate Degrees or two years at the Higher Education level in any subject area, and want a training course that is of equal value to more traditional conservatoire courses. Our close ties with Scotland’s only Screen Academy (housed at Edinburgh Napier University), and Edinburgh Napier’s expertise in actor training, close links with the industry and, our proximity to, and involvement in, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival give this course a context that cannot be matched elsewhere in the UK.

AboutEdinburgh Napier University is a public university in Edinburgh, Scotland. Napier Technical College, the predecessor of the university, was founded in 1964, taking its name from 16th-century Scottish mathematician and philosopher John Napier. The technical college was inaugurated as a university in 1992 by Lord Douglas-Hamilton, becoming Napier University. In 2009, the university was renamed Edinburgh Napier University.

Built around the historic 16th-century birthplace and home of our very own John Napier, Merchiston campus is home to our creative, computing and engineering students. Situated in the buzzing neighbourhood of Bruntsfield, independent cafes, restaurants and shops are just around the corner. Merchiston is also home to the Edinburgh Napier Students Association. We also have rehearsal and performance spaces in a converted church just around the corner in nearby Morningside.
